From Aishwarya Rai to Neha Dhupia to Sameera Reddy, celebrities have been the victim of body shaming. And, now a new name has been added to the list – Kareena Kapoor.
7 months after giving birth to her second child Jehangir, Kareena Kapoor recently walked the runway for designer Gaurav Gupta at the Lakme Fashion Week. While a few found her stunning, there were many who brutally body-shamed her!
It is quite heartbreaking how many netizens lacked empathy towards the new mother. It is absolutely natural for a woman’s body to change after having a baby. And most importantly, no one has the right to tell a woman, how she chooses to carry herself post-pregnancy. Sadly, even in 2021, people still feel it’s okay to body shame a woman for gaining weight; it is okay to shame a new mom for putting on weight.
While a few supported Kareena, here is how Kareena Kapoor was trolled for looking bigger in certain areas of her body over Reddit and IG.
While there were some who applauded Bebo for embracing her postpartum body:
Motherhood isn’t an easy journey. On top of it, so much hatred and negativity showered on Kareena shows how cruel we have become. It is quite amazing how Kareena chose to embrace her postpartum body and walked the ramp like a queen. In a country, where new moms are shamed for weight gain, we are sure Kareena Kapoor’s courageous step will inspire many new moms to embrace their bodies! And, we just have one thing to say – Dear Netizens, if you don’t have anything nice to say, just scroll down. Stop trolling and shattering people’s confidence!
