TV actor Sriti Jha is quite popular for her various roles in hit shows like ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, ‘Dhoom Machaao Dhoom’, as well as ‘Dil Se Di Dua…Saubhagyavati Bhava’ opposite Karanvir Bohra. Through her great acting skills, she has won many hearts. But recently when Sriti Jha went viral on social media, it wasn’t for her acting skills. Rather, it was her poem that she wrote last year.
In the viral clip, the actress is seen narrating a heart-touching poem that captures what it’s like to be an asexual woman. While sharing her experience with the world, Sriti explains how like many, she loves to be hugged and kissed, but sex doesn’t do anything for her.
In the video, which is from the Spoken Fest in Mumbai in January 2020, Sriti speaks about feeling isolated and pressured as people debate how sex is an important part of love. She ended the poem with the line, “I am asexual, I’m not the only one.”
Here’s the beautiful clip:

At IFOHER, we are in awe of Sriti’s courage to take a stand against the whole world. Asexuality in the LGBTQIA+ community hasn’t received the representation that it deserves. While there are many who identify themselves as asexual but because of lack of social support, they refuse to speak up. We hope Sriti’s courage will inspire them to start the much-needed conversation.
