Marriages are special. But some weddings are more special than others. And, one such very special marriage was the wedding of this single mom, whose 10-year-old son turned into her best man. Here’s her inspiring story that will make you applaud her courage and parenting.
Though a single mom faces criticism, judgment, and discrimination by society at every step in her journey to create a dignified life for herself and her kids, her courageous soul refuses to give up! She manages through her emotional battles to ensure that she inspires her child to be the best version of herself or himself.
One such story is the story of a Hyderabad-based designer mom who raised her son single-handedly after her divorce.
And, when she tied the knot with her soulmate, her son turned into her best man for the wedding. It wasn’t only her lehenga and bridal jewelry that made the marriage beautiful but the strong message that came along with it.
The best part about this wedding was that Archana’s 10-year-old son, who actively took part in the wedding and became her best man, holding that adorable signboard.
As this single mom walked down the aisle holding her son’s hand, twinning in identical outfits, you couldn’t resist applauding the courage of this single mom and the great parenting!
Though society expects women to suffer in a troubled marriage for their kids, Archana knew that was the worst advice ever. After struggling with a bad experience in her first marriage, Archana finally decided to leave her ex-husband. She ended her troubled marriage for her son’s better future. When she met her current husband, Paul who is a German diplomat, at a charity drive, love blossomed between the couple.
But Archana was a little apprehensive about the second marriage as she wanted her partner and her son to bond well. Talking about the same, Archana shared:
“After the divorce, my life was just about my son and work. After six years of being single, I met a German man. Even when we were dating, I was very clear that unless my son approved, we would not get married. Now, my son looks up to him as a father.”
Thankfully, her second marriage brought happiness not only in her life but also in her son’s life. Archana further shared:
“My son was extremely happy when I was seeing my partner, as he had seen me suffer in my first marriage. I introduced my son to him and saw how they broke the ice. They took time, but bonded beautifully.”
At IFORHER, we are celebrating Archana’s courage to move out of a troubled marriage and find happiness again. We not only wish Archana for her new innings but hope that her story will inspire many women to break out of a toxic marriage for their kids.
