Being applauded for her roles as ‘Preeto’ in the hit show Shakti, as well as her stint on Bigg Boss, actress Kamya Panjabi is a well-known face on Indian Television. Like many strong and independent women, Kamya Panjabi is also loved for her outspoken and honest nature.
After being separated for almost 7 years from her first husband, Kamya Panjabi got engaged with Shalabh Dang, Delhi-based healthcare professional. And, now when love has again knocked the doors in her mother’s life, this 10-year-old has been the happiest for her mother.
Daughter Turning Into Guardian Angel
On February 9, 2020, Kamya’s family organized a Haldi ceremony for her. Though there were many family members by her side during this special occasion, what caught people’s attention was how her 10-year-old daughter, Aara, turned into her Guardian as she led her mother in the most important phase of her life. It is heart-touching to see how she took her mother’s hand for the ceremony and sat right beside her as a perfect guardian throughout the event.

Love happens
Kamya Panjabi was earlier married to a businessman, Bunty Negi. After three years of marriage, they were blessed with the baby girl, Aara, in the year 2006. It was in the year 2013 when the couple decided to part ways and had gotten officially separated.
In an interview with a leading daily, Kamya had revealed:
“I will be a married woman by this time next year (laughs!). I contacted Shalabh in February, after a friend told me to consult him about some health woes that I was facing. We got chatting and in a-month-and-a-half, he proposed marriage.”
But Giving Marriage A Second Chance Wasn’t Easy
In one of her interviews, Kamya shared how giving marriage a second chance was a huge deal for her:
“Tying the knot again was a huge deal for me and hence, I took my time to think about it. Following a failed marriage and a few heartbreaks, I had almost turned averse to the idea of tying the knot and falling in love. In fact, there came a point when main shaadi ke khilaaf ho gayi thi. But Shalabh has made me believe in love and the institution of marriage again. I am like a 16-year-old girl now, madly in love with him.”

Sharing how society has always wondered what made Shalabh accept her and her daughter, Kamya shared with HT:
“When people tell me ‘oh, he (Shalabh) is ready to accept you, that’s so nice’, I feel like ‘excuse me, what do you mean by ready to accept?’ Just because I’m divorced and a single parent, does that mean I lack something or I’m not good enough?”
At IFORHER, we are not only proud of Aara, but we also applaud Kamya Panjabi’s determination to lead a life on her own terms. How she has always taken pride in being a single mom is quite inspirational. We wish Kamya Panjabi a very happy married life and hope her story would inspire many, who feel it is too late to find love!
