Wife Siddharth Vashisth Last Rites Uniform ForHer

A Love Story Like No Other

This love story is not like a usual love story! In this story, there is a husband who loves someone else more than his wife. The wife loves someone else more than her husband. And both of them are in love with each other because they know that they are not each other’s priority.

They know they love their country more than anyone else and that’s what made this love story so special and heartwarming!

We are talking about the love story of late Squadron Leader Siddharth Vashisht and his wife, Squadron Leader Aarti Singh.

The Life Of Pain, Sacrifice & Determination

A fourth-generation member from his family in the armed forces, Vashisht was ready to dedicate his life to the service of his country. His life story might be short but definitely a story to inspire millions of others to live a life of pain, sacrifice, and determination.

Vashisht, whose family had settled in Chandigarh, was commissioned in the IAF in 2010. In 2019, he was given a commendation for his role in the rescue operation during the Kerala floods.

But no one imagined that we will have to bear the loss of such a heroic personality in such a short span of time.

An IAF helicopter crashed in Budgam district of J&K in early 2019, killing both its pilots and four others on board besides a local resident.

The Heart-breaking Final Goodbye

When you see hundreds of people turning up to bid a tearful farewell to someone they have never met, you know he is an immortal being, you are bidding goodbye to.

The mortal remains were brought home in a coffin wrapped in the national flag and were taken to cremation ground from his residence on a bedecked IAF vehicle. You could feel the pain and pride in the air!

But, then many experienced an extraordinary moment when the wife of the IAF Pilot, arrived at the funeral of her husband in her uniform.

When Vashisht’s father lit the funeral pyre you couldn’t resist looking at Aarti Singh, wife of the slain 31-year-old pilot and a Squadron Leader herself. She held back her tears at the sight of her husband’s last rites.

She stared with mourning eyes as IAF  gave a gun salute in the presence of many officials from the IAF, the civil administration, and a large number of people who turned up to pay their last respects.

You can’t stop applauding her courage and bravery!

Behind every soldier is a group of silent soldiers who silently sign a pact to dedicate their whole life to the country. These silent soldiers are none other than their parents, siblings, children, and most importantly, their wives.

We salute these silent soldiers for having the courage to let their loved ones sacrifice lives for us!
