Any long-lasting marriage is a combination of three things – memories of togetherness, the forgiveness of mistakes and promise to never give up on each other.

Though our future generation is losing faith in the institution of marriage, people like Tahira Kashyap and Ayushmann Khurrana, are showing us what true companionship looks like.

Since the time Tahira Kashyap, wife of a famous Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, came forward to share how she battled with breast cancer and emerged a survivor, we couldn’t stop applauding her courage.

It was last year when Tahira was diagnosed with breast cancer and shared that she was undergoing a mastectomy. Since the time she has returned to work after months of treatment, she regularly utilizes different platforms to spread cancer awareness.

And recently, while participating in a five-kilometer women’s marathon Pinkathon run, Tahira was full of positivity during her cancer battle. She shared how family support is the most important during this time.

While sharing her courageous battle, she mentioned:

“You can’t share that pain or struggle with anyone else but when you have the support of your parents, husband, children, immediate family members and friends, then the struggle doesn’t feel like struggle. I think the journey becomes easy, lovable and joyous. All of us thrive on love, so I really wish that each one of us is surrounded by a lot of love.”

She further added how she hopes other husbands would learn from Ayushmann and support their wives during their cancer struggle:

“I really wish every husband and every wife is there for each other through thick and thin. I was really surprised and shocked when Milind (Soman) said that a lot of women, when they have cancer, especially in a rural belt, are abandoned by the men of the house. Everyone goes through struggle in their life but if you have the support of your people, family members and loved ones, the journey becomes a bit easy and joyous. I really wish that all the men support their women as much as my husband did and that’s how it should be.”
