A few days back we celebrated the inspiring story of Haritha, daughter of a sanitation worker, who fought against odds to secure a rank of 1187 in the IIT-JEE exams. And now, after Haritha, here is another story of an inspiring daughter who refuses to give up on her dreams due to her circumstances.
We are celebrating the inspiring courage of K Swati, who defied all the odds to turn her dream of IIT Into a reality. K Swati, who secured admission into IIT Patna, has made her parents and teachers proud.
Swati’s father is a cab driver based out of Andhra. As per The New Indian Express, Swati’s parents shifted to Vizag 20 years back. Her father, Ramu, initially worked as a construction worker. Despite his life struggles, Ramu refused to compromise on his children’s education.
After some time, Ramu started driving an auto. Post which, he shifted to Madhurawada from Kancharapalem and started driving a cab. At that time, Swati was admitted into Class 6 of Chandrampalem Zilla Parishad High School.
Swati scored 10/10 in Class 10 and, she started focusing on IIT as her next target.
Raja Babu, her headmaster not only encouraged her but also helped her financially.
“Swati lived up to our expectations whether it was in school or in college,’’ said Raja Babu.
With the sole purpose to help the young potential to succeed in our country, he also provided Rs 1 lakh towards her IIT fees. As per sources, even TSR Prasad, the school correspondent also contributed Rs 25,000 to her education.
While being proud of his daughter, Ramu, who couldn’t study, mentioned:
“At least I want my children to study well,”
Proud of her own achievements, Swati hopes to eventually become an IAS officer. She wants to make her parents proud.
“This is the only way I can repay or express my gratitude to my parents and also teachers, who reposed immense confidence in me,” she said.
At IFORHER, we salute Swati’s determination, courage, and hard work. How she is fighting against her life circumstances to create a dignified life for herself is quite inspiring. We feel her story is the inspiration for thousands of parents and kids, who are struggling with their life challenges to turn dreams into reality.
