7 Flops In 2 Yrs: Can Akshay Kumar Even Be Considered A Superstar As Raniganj Earns Only 2.8 Cr In Opening

The world of Bollywood, like a movie plot, is always changing. Stars rise and fall based on how well their movies do at the box office and how much people like them. Akshay Kumar, a famous Bollywood actor, has been going through a tough time lately, with many of his recent movies not doing so well. 

In 2022, Akshay Kumar had a rough time. Many of his movies, like Bachchan Pandey, Prithviraj Chauhan, and Rakshabandhan, didn’t do well with both the critics and the audience. This tough phase carried over into 2023 with his movie Selfiee, which didn’t catch the audience’s interest.

And, sadly, even Akshay Kumar’s new movie Mission Raniganj not doing well on its opening day. The movie, which tells the inspiring story of mining engineer Jaswant Gill, didn’t make much money at the box office, making only Rs 2.8 crores on its opening day. This was a significant disappointment in Akshay Kumar’s career in terms of how much the movie made on its first day. Even though Mission Raniganj got praise from movie critics for its powerful storytelling, it didn’t do well in terms of the money it made. Unfortunately, Mission Raniganj broke the record of Selfiee and became Akshay Kumar’s lowest opening movie of his career. 

Except for OMG 2 – which is Pankaj Tripathi’s movie – Akshay Kumar’s recent movies are not doing well at the box office. 10 box office failures in 3 years have made many wonder if Akshay Kumar deserves the label of superstar anymore. Does having 10 unsuccessful movies in 3 years put Akshay Kumar’s stardom under question? Or is it just a rough patch that every actor goes through?

To regain his superstar status and win back the audience’s trust, Akshay Kumar needs to think about his choices carefully. He should pick stories that people will like, work with new and creative directors, and make sure he values quality over quantity. 

There is no doubt that Akshay Kumar is an amazing actor, but recent troubles remind us that it’s time for Akshay Kumar to introspect. It’s a sign that the world of movies is always changing, and Akshay needs to keep up with the times to stay relevant. Akshay Kumar has the talent and determination to get through this tough period, and in time, we’ll see him shine once again as a Bollywood superstar.
