Nita Ambani comes from a humble family background. Before marrying Mukesh Ambani, the talented Indian classical dancer pursued her graduation from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics. In 1985, Mukesh Ambani tied the knot with the shy Nita Ambani, whom he had proposed to in a rather romantic and bold manner by stopping his car on the road to pop the question. But, did you know that before tying the knot, Nita Ambani placed a condition before agreeing to marry the ninth richest man in the world?
In an old interview, she shared the condition that she had before saying yes to the marriage proposal. She shared how all she wanted was to be able to continue teaching even after getting married.
While sharing further details, Mukesh Ambani mentioned, “As soon as we got married next year she was a school teacher at Sunflower Nursery,” and she was paid a monthly salary of Rs. 800.
Today, Nita Ambani is the chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, Dhirubhai Ambani International School and the director of Reliance Industries.
