Recently, Shah Rukh Khan returned to the big screen after four years and rescued Bollywood with an extraordinary box-office hit – Pathaan. This SRK-Deepika-John starrer has broken all the records at the box office. From being the highest-opening Bollywood movie to the widest global reach, Pathaan has created havoc at the box office.
And, now Pathaan has beaten SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 and has become the highest-grossing film in Hindi ever.
Yes, the SRK-Deepika starrer, which already crossed Rs 1000 crores at the global box office, now has finally beaten Baahubali: The Conclusion’s collection in Hindi, which is Rs 510.99 crores.
Pathaan tops the list of highest-grossing films in Hindi ever
Other than Pathaan and Baahubali, there are blockbusters like – KGF: Chapter 2 [Rs 435 crores], Dangal [Rs 387.38 crores], Sanju [Rs 342.86 crores], PK [Rs 340.80 crores], Tiger Zinda Hai [Rs 339.16 crores], Bajrangi Bhaijaan [Rs 320.34 crores] and War [318.01 crores] – on the list.
Beating all the controversies and the boycott calls, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan has come out as a winner. And, after Pathaan became the highest-grossing film in Hindi, many SRK fans came forward to celebrate the news.
One fan wrote,”Thanks to all sincere boycott gang. This couldn’t happen without their immense support” Another fan wrote,”Really hope now this shut down the people who were saying SRK should retire to playing elderly roles or sit in wheelchair type roles.”
Pathaan’s sequel has already been confirmed by the makers.
As per the news agency ANI, Shah Rukh Khan said during a conference, “This is a big day for us, my family. We haven’t experienced this happiness in a while. Whenever he (Siddharth Anand) wants me to do Pathaan 2, I’ll do it. If they want to make a sequel, it’ll be my honour to do it.”
