Since the day of its trailer release, The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen remains the focus of controversies. The movie, which was labeled as propaganda, turned out to be one of the most popular films of 2023. The movie starring Adah Sharma shattered so many box office records that it left the audience as well as the makers stunned.
Though the movie performed terrific at the box office, it hasn’t been a smooth journey. The movie faced scrutiny and controversy for its bold portrayal of sensitive subjects like religious conversions, ISIS, and love jihad. The film’s release initially faced a ban in West Bengal, and several theaters in Tamil Nadu declined to screen it, intensifying the challenges it faced.
Despite the film’s resounding success in theaters, the makers of “The Kerala Story” are now encountering a new hurdle in their quest for an Over-The-Top (OTT) platform to showcase their movie. Sudipto Sen, the director, expressed his disappointment, revealing that they have been struggling to find a suitable OTT buyer for the film.
As per Bollywood Hungama, the film has yet to receive any favorable response from potential streaming platforms, leaving the team in a state of uncertainty.
“We still haven’t got a suitable offer from any OTT platform for The Kerala Story…we are still waiting for a good workable deal from any of the main OTT platforms. But so far, we have not got any offer worth considering. It seems the film industry has ganged up to punish us…Our box office success has irked many sections of the film industry. We have a feeling that a section of the entertainment industry has united to punish us for our success.”, said Sudipto.

The power of the #truth is now clearly visible in the form of fear in the hearts of those selling us lies for decades. As the scared #Bollywood Mafia tries to block #TheKeralaStory on OTT.

But Netflix has Caliphate which is similar storyline. I wonder why they are not taking this one. Definitely Bollywood pressure.

Honestly, @sudiptoSENtlm should release this movie online in his own website (with a good video player app) the link will be enough for people to watch on their phones and smart tv! Just wait and watch how Indians will make his web page successful and eventually can become its…

How is ZEE not buying the OTT rights to #TheKeralaStory, if they don’t already have them? I thought it was their production so it would make sense for the movie to be available on ZEE5…🤔

We will uninstall all others to never watch them again.
We must all boycott Bollywood movies on OTT , this will effect them badly.

Zee5 had earlier released Kashmir files & Jio Cinema is another option. Doesnt look like Ambanis will bow down to any pressure tactic.

Doesn’t matter if you don’t get a good deal on OTT.
We have supported you enough. Even arranged free screening for college girls.
If you are serious about the CAUSE, high time u put it for free on YouTube.
Otherwise, don’t talk big.#TheKeralaStory
Since it has been successful in theatres, a web release will have to be a thoughtful decision. I’m sure The Kerala Story OTT par bhi jaldi aa hi jaayegi-@adah_sharma https://t.co/2SSCreKJJj
