Recently, Koffee with Karan’s new season revealed a lot of unheard stories. And, one such story was about how Kirti Sanon was first offered Kiara Advani’s movie, Lust Stories. But she refused to do it for personal reasons. Kriti clarified that it was her mother who didn’t allow her to do the movie because of the explicit orgasm scene.
During the show, Kriti said, “My mom said no to your (Karan Johar) role because she was not comfortable with the nature of the script, given the focus of it was only on sensual scenes. That is why she said ‘better not to do it.’ I come from a middle-class family and for them, controversial themes like these can be a little shocking. But I don’t always ask my mother.”
Now, during a recent interview with India Today, Kriti’s mother Geeta Sanon finally shared why she didn’t let her daughter do Lust Stories. “I thought we would not be comfortable seeing her doing such a scene at the beginning of her career. It’s about orgasm, only,”
Kriti further added, “I think her problem was more that it was a short film and not a full-fledged film, so my mother said it was a 20-minute thing about only a female orgasm. If you are doing a 20-minute thing in a full-fledged film, that would make sense.”
Many netizens reacted to the video clip and spoke about then why item songs or making-out scenes are okay. Some did mention how Lust Stories made a brave attempt to shatter the taboo around female pleasure.
Some netizens mentioned that Kriti doesn’t owe any explanation to anyone.
