No one can deny how women have to fight for equality and life of dignity at every step of her life. But with every passing day, we are witnessing strong and powerful women, who don’t shy away from standing for themselves to fight this battle and change the world for the better. The inspiring parents that raise these powerful women are no less heroes. Though we applaud the mothers’ raising strong daughters every day, today, we are celebrating the brave fathers. These fathers remind their daughters every day that they are worthy of all the success and happiness as men – no matter what our society and its unwritten patriarchal rules try to tell them.
These fathers taking the stand against the patriarchal society are the undeniable champs that our society needs. So, here’s a small tribute to our fathers who always stand along their daughters to shatter society’s regressive voices to create a life of their dreams.
Our fathers, who may have been brought up in homes that were regressive and patriarchal, made sure that they get over those regressive norms and overcome the ‘log kya kahengey’ mindset.
Our fathers, who were born in the times when women could hardly afford the same freedom and opportunities as that of men, made sure that they don’t let their daughters believe in a world that lacks these opportunities! They made us believe that we could do anything that a man can do; that we can be anyone that a man can be!
Our fathers, who may have seen their parents, prioritizing them over their sisters, made sure that they don’t repeat the mistakes of their parents. They made sure that they treat us no less than their sons! They gave us equal opportunities as far as education, career, and life are concerned. They not only gave us the opportunities but also gave us the inspiration to create our place in men dominated world. They made us strong enough to defy a world of men who just wanted us to believe that we’re less than them just because we were the women!
We want to thank our fathers for seeing us more than roti-making perfect brides! We want to thank our fathers for letting us learn how the world should treat us!
We want to thank our fathers for standing by us when the society wanted us to bow down to their regressive rules; We want to thank them for making us stand for ourselves; We want to thank them for not making us wait for our prince charming, rather raising us to be our own hero!
Most importantly, thanks for not letting us subscribe to society’s thought-process of being a selfless woman; thanks for teaching us how to indulge in self-love and not feel guilty about making decisions for our own happiness.
We can definitely write endlessly on how blessed and thankful we are for everything that they have done to make us strong and independent. So, we just want to hug them and tell them:
“Happy Father’s Day, Papa! I wouldn’t have been the woman I am today if it weren’t for you! Thank you for being the greatest man ever!”
