One thing that scares Indian society more than anything is a strong and independent woman. Society gets worried when a woman starts living life on her own terms and starts shattering the social norms. A couple of days ago, Bengali actress and Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan welcomed a bundle of happiness in her life, as she gave birth to a baby boy.
Her estranged husband had sent her best wishes. Sometime back, Nusrat got involved in a controversy as she claimed that her marriage with Nikhil Jain, that happened in Turkey was not legal under Indian laws.
While on the other hand, Nikhil claimed that Nusrat avoided his requests to register their marriage. As reported, the actor-assembly poll candidate Yash Dasgupta, who is rumoured to be her boyfriend, was also present at the hospital.
While sharing the update, Yash informed the media that both the mother and child were fine after the delivery.
“For those who have been enquiring about Nusrat’s health, the mother and child are healthy and doing well,”
But, what caught attention of many was the fact that Nusrat has still not revealed the identity of the Daddy. Recently, she shared first glimpse into new mommy life and wrote a powerful message for haters. “Don’t take criticism from people u won’t take advice from… #newrole #newmommylife #newlook pic courtesy: Daddy,” she wrote.

Many single mothers applauded and supported her decision for not revealing the identity of the father! Director Anindita Sarbadhicari had earlier told TOI,
“A mother has every right not to disclose the name of the baby’s father. Being someone in the media’s limelight, I know it isn’t all that hard for us to live life by making that choice. It should be easier for Nusrat, being a star MP, to simply choose to ignore all the hullabaloo. It’s much more challenging for women without access to the media eye to make the choice. Fortunately, I personally know many who are doing it now and are getting acceptance, too.”
At IFORHER, we wish Nusrat all the best and hope she will keep inspiring many to lead life on their own terms!
