Many parents would do anything to send their kids to Reality Shows. But, what they don’t understand is how these shows are manipulating their kids. Famous singer Rekha Bhardwaj revealed some of the ugly realities that no parent can ignore.
The endless drama, emotional stories, and tears shed by the judges is the reality of our Indian TV reality shows that no one can deny.
In the quest for higher TRPs, most of these kids’ reality shows have made this emotional drama a core part of the production.
While most of the celebrities shy away from exposing the ugly reality of these shows, some brave ones are coming forward to build awareness. They want the naive parents to understand and stop pushing their kids into this manipulation.
One such brave soul is famous and talented singer Rekha Bhardwaj, wife of Vishal Bhardwaj. She has sung many songs in famous movies like Omkara, Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani and much more.
Recently, disappointed by music reality shows, she took to Twitter and shared her annoyance in a series of tweets raising legitimate concerns about how kids are exploited in the name of music.
Rekha tweeted: “I am not able to understand why there is so much drama in music reality shows?” Check it out:

In her following tweets, she shared how rather than focusing on the music, these reality shows push the young kids to ask for votes or look glamourous:
What disappoints me and saddens me is that rather than guiding these kids to treat music as Ibaadat/Prayer we are teaching them to compete /ask for votes/ learn to look glamorous … in the name of Guru Shishya Parampara we are using their age and spoiling their innocence !!

Nobody’s concerned about these talented kids future !!!

Disgusted by how music reality shows have turned themselves into drama shows for the sake of TRP, Rekha closed the conversation with her hard-hitting tweet:
Today i felt very sad !
And i pray Khuda na kare main kabhi is tarah ke mediocre show ki hissa banun.
Coz in the name of music its just noise and every song has to make you dance !— rekha bhardwaj (@rekha_bhardwaj) September 1, 2019
Recently, one of the leading judges on the Dance Reality show, Terence also shared why he wouldn’t let his own kids ever participate in the reality shows.
We are happy that at least some of the celebrities have refused to ignore the manipulation of young kids in the name of arts.
Some of the parents also came forward to support Rekha’s thoughts and talked about how they have stopped watching such programs.
More drama, less music/dance. Pathetic they are.

A true observation. Offlate for last 3-4 years we have stopped watching these programmes. Not only they are using emotions to sell the popularity…..but also killing future of these young kids who are participating for meagre instant popularity.

But is anything going to change?
In the never-ending quest to top TRP charts, will the makers of these shows think humanely about kids or continue to sell emotional drama?
Will authorities keep their eyes shut to the manipulation of these young kids and their innocence in the name of music and dance?
Don’t you think there should be a line drawn when it comes to reality shows featuring little innocent children?
