No one can deny that the popular web series Panchayat has received immense love and affection from its audience. Not only the fans but also critics couldn’t stop but admire this beautiful heart-touching show! Featuring ace actors such as Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, and Sunita Rajwar, Panchayat follows the life of an engineering graduate who joins as a Panchayat secretary in a remote village of Uttar Pradesh named Phulera due to lack of better job opportunities.
Even though it’s been weeks now since Panchayat season 2 was dropped on Prime Video, fans cannot stop talking about the series. And, many fans are curious to know if the makers are planning the third season.
And, finally the big question of ‘When can we see Panchayat season 3?’ has been answered by Panchayat’s director Deepak Kumar Mishra. Though Deepak Kumar has recently confirmed that the team is planning a season three but they are not in any hurry.
From Panchayat Season 3 to Abhishek and Rinki’s love story to the hard-hitting climax scene, Panchayat’s director Deepak Kumar Mishra spoke about many exciting things.
When Is Panchayat Season 3 Coming?
While talking about Panchayat Season 3, Deepak Kumar told The New Indian Express “Season 3, of course, aayega but time lagega (There will be a new season but it will take time) Right now, we have the responsibility of two seasons and thus we’ll have to focus more on performances and script. Thus it will take its own time,”
Will Season 3 address Abhishek and Rinki’s love story?
Acknowledging that the fans are really excited to know more about Abhishek and Rinki’s (Jitendra Kumar and Sanvikaa) love story, Deepak said, “As I said, everything will take its own time. Just like the nature of the village, everything will happen at a slow pace. Dheere dheere sab hoga (It will all happen slowly).”
What’s the secret to Panchayat’s success?
In the times when superstars are failing to impress the audience, Panchayat’s success is definitely quite inspiring. While sharing the secret sauce of Panchayat, the director said, “It’s hard to say but if I have to put it in one word, it’s the simplicity. Every other show on the web is talking about violence in the hinterland. With Panchayat, people saw themselves as the characters. I think it’s the relatability and simplicity that did the trick.”
No one can deny that TVF’s show also worked due to its subtle messaging. The show’s ability to portray very ‘normal and realistic’ emotions without being preachy or dramatic is definitely its USP.
Why the hard-hitting death scene in the climax of such a light-hearted show?
With regards to the hard-hitting climax scene, Deepak shared how the team wanted to do something different that could make people sit up. “If you see a character always smiling, or making people laugh, and something bad happens to them, it will hit you. We had planted how Prahlad (Faisal Malik) has a son, who visits him and then the emotional take. There were a few other things that we did not want to place overtly — like Pradhan’s (Raghubir Yadav) political scenario turning worse or Bhushan (Durgesh Kumar) overpowering them. We wanted Pradhan ji’s group to be back, the villagers should feel for the gang as a whole. It wasn’t intentional but we did want to do something drastic, something dramatic,” the actor-turned-director said.
