Koffee with Karan returns with its seventh season on Disney+Hotstar. And, in its first episode, Karan hosted newly married Alia Bhatt along with energetic Ranveer Singh. And, as the episode was streamed on OTT yesterday, many netizens took to social media to discuss the show.
In case you haven’t watched the show, here’s a quick summary – Alia made revelations about her love story, her wedding day, her married life & her relationship with Ranbir’s exes! On the other hand, Ranveer opened up about his marriage, bedroom secrets and his relationship with Padukone’s parents! And, there were some more confessions and revelations!
While the internet is divided about the entertainment quotient of the episode, one thing that many netizens are talking about is Ranveer’s subtle dig at Karan & Alia over nepotism.
In a particular scene, you can see Ranveer speaking about Karan’s bias towards Alia in a humorous way. He says “It’s Koffee with Karan. There is a nepo bias. It’s fine. I was expecting this.” To which Alia calls him a sore loser.
While it may seem Ranveer was joking but netizens completely agreed with him. A Redditor started a thread where the clip of the show has been shared along with the caption: “Alia and Kjo really don’t know how to react coz they know what he is saying is true” Here’s what Redditors had to say about it.

3. Some felt it was staged to manipulate the audience
“Tbh I think the whole thing was staged – (I think Kjo and ranveer definitely still have a good relationship because they are working together ultimately) – it was staged to make a statement about how Kjo + Alia are ok with being trolled and hated by the ‘nepo nepo gang’ and they will stick together, like what can anyone do about it vibe.
