2. Sushant Singh Rajput
After the untimely demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, many people came forward to blame Karan Johar for not giving him enough opportunities and pushing him to the sidelines. Some people also accused him of being one of the main perpetrators of nepotism in the industry. Kangana Ranaut blamed Karan Johar for ruining Sushant’s career.
3. Priyanka Chopra
Most recently, Karan Johar got trolled for allegedly forcing Priyanka Chopra to leave the Indian film industry. While Priyanka didn’t name anyone in her interview, many claimed that it was Karan Johar who tried to sabotage her career.
After Priyanka Chopra in an interview with American actor Dax Randall Shepard, Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut defended Priyanka Chopra. Kangana called Karan Johar an obnoxious, envious, cruel, and poisonous person who needs to be held accountable for damaging the film industry’s culture and atmosphere.
Actress Kangana Ranaut has been a vocal critic of Karan Johar and his brand of nepotism. From time to time she has blamed Movie Mafia for making relentless attempts to sabotage her movies. During a TV show, she called Karan the “snooty flag bearer of nepotism” and hinted that he was running a “movie mafia”.
There have been reports and rumors in the media that Karan Johar allegedly tried to sabotage actor Kartik Aaryan’s career after a fallout between them. However, neither Karan Johar nor Kartik Aaryan have publicly confirmed or denied these rumors. In March 2021, it was announced that Kartik Aaryan had been dropped from Dharma Productions’ upcoming film “Dostana 2” due to “unprofessional behavior.” This led to speculation that Karan Johar, who is the head of Dharma Productions, was behind Kartik’s ouster. However, both Johar and Aaryan remained tight-lipped about the incident.
