Though Aamir Khan’s latest movie Laal Singh Chaddha saw a slight collection growth at the box office on Sunday, unfortunately, its performance was still below expectation. The movie collected INR 10 Crore, bringing the overall collections of four days to INR 37.96 Crore. The movie saw a collection growth of 15% as compared to Saturday. With the stellar star cast, the makers had much more expectations from the movie made on the budget of INR 180 Crore+. As per recent reports, the movie collected INR 45.83 Crores over 5 days.
As per the sources, the movie performed well in the multiplexes but was rejected by the audience in the mass belts leading to its underwhelming performance.
Sharing the performance report of Laal Singh Chaddha, Taran Adarsh mentioned: “#LaalSinghChaddha is rejected… #LSC *5-day* total is lower than *Day 1* total of #ThugsOfHindostan [₹ 50.75 cr; #Hindi version], do the math… Thu 11.70 cr [#RakshaBandhan], Fri 7.26 cr, Sat 9 cr, Sun 10 cr, Mon 7.87 cr [#IndependenceDay]. Total: ₹ 45.83 cr.”

Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, struggles to make the collection of INR 50 Crore after a 5-day weekend. Do you know this would be the lowest collection for an Aamir Khan film in the last 10 years? Even Aamir Khan’s disastrous movie Thugs of Hindostan made a collection of Rs. 50.75 Crore on an opening day.
Released along with Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, the film failed to bring the audience to the cinema halls. Due to the low footfall, hundreds of shows were said to be canceled.
While some blamed the boycott calls, some blamed Aamir Khan’s over-acting for the movie’s bad performance.

From Hrithik Roshan to Nagarjuna to Farhan Akhtar to Huma Qureshi, many Bollywood celebs have come forward to extend their support to the movie.
Hrithik Roshan tweeted, “Just watched LAAL SINGH CHADDA. I felt the HEART of this movie. Pluses and minuses aside, this movie is just magnificent. Don’t miss this gem guys ! Go ! Go now . Watch it. It’s beautiful. Just beautiful.”

But, sadly, even after celebs’ endorsements, the audience rejected the movie. As per Bollywood Hungama report, Aamir Khan is in a state of shock and the rejection has hit him hard. They quoted a close friend of Aamir and his former wife saying, “Aamir had worked really hard to make the best version of Forrest Gump possible. The rejection has hit him very hard.”
Bollywood Hungama also predicted a lifetime collection of Rs 75 crore, and according to the portal, on a return-on-investment alone, will be Aamir’s worst flop since Mela. The actor reportedly had a backend deal on the film, which will now be non-existent in the wake of its dismal performance.
Along with Aamir Khan, Laal Singh Chaddha also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya.
