Chakda Xpress
Anushka Sharma is set to make a comeback in Prosit Ray’s Chakda ‘Xpress, a sports drama inspired by the life of veteran Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami, which will arrive on Netflix in 2023. Inspired by the journey of Jhulan Goswami, the movie captures how she moved up the ladder despite the problems created by misogynistic politics to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India.

Ae Watan Mere Watan
Touted to be an ode to the unsung freedom fighters, Ae Watan Mere Watan is inspired by true events. Starring Sara Ali Khan in the lead role, the movie revolves around a college girl, who becomes a part of the independence movement.
Neeyat
Neeyat marks Vidya Balan’s return to theatres post-pandemic, after her successful stint on OTT with three acclaimed films– Shakuntala Devi, Sherni, and Jalsa. The murder mystery will see the reunion of the Shakuntala Devi team, with director Anu Menon helming the film, which has been produced by Prime Video and Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment. ‘Neeyat’ is a suspense-thriller, which revolves around the story of an unlikely detective (Vidya Balan) investigating inexplicable killings at a billionaire’s party where nothing is as it seems and all suspects have a secret or two.
Tejas
Being a rebel, Kangana is well-known for playing characters that fight social norms on the big screen. And once again, she is set to do just that with her upcoming movie, Tejas. In this highly anticipated film, Kangana will portray an Indian Air Force pilot, drawing inspiration from a real-life landmark event in 2016 when the Indian Air Force became the first of the country’s defense forces to induct women into combat roles. We are extremely excited about this hard-hitting movie!
Tarla
Huma Qureshi’s Tarla, a film based on the life of famous Indian chef Tarla Dalad is going to have its official release on Zee5 soon. Commenting on her character, Huma said: “Tarla Dalal reminds me of my childhood. My mom had a copy of her book in the kitchen and would often try many of her recipes for my school tiffin.” Piyush Gupta is the film’s director, and Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari are the producers.

Dhak Dhak
Dhak Dhak is a heart-warming story of four women undertaking a trip breaking out of their cocoons & discovering themselves through this journey of introspection & adventure. Featuring, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza and Sanjana Sanghi as protagonists, Dhak Dhak is co-produced by Taapsee Pannu, Pranjal Khandhdiya and Ayush Maheshwari. The film is co-written by Parijat Joshi and Tarun Dudeja & directed by Tarun Dudeja.
Emergency
Another highly anticipated women-centric Bollywood movie of the year is Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency. The movie is based on the life of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Not only Ranaut is playing the lead role of Indira Gandhi, but she is also producing the movie, which is based on the emergency period in India between 1975-1977. Along with Kangana Ranaut, the movie also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Shreyas Talpade in significant roles.

The Crew
Directed by Rajesh Krishnan, the movie stars Kriti Sanon, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Tabu. The movie revolves around three hard-working women as their destinies lead to some unwarranted situations and end up caught in a web of lies.
